Social Democratic Party (PSD) leader, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, declared on Wednesday that in the electoral competition he was most affected by the way in which Calin Georgescu "artificially increased his exposure, circumventing the legal framework", and "in the face of this reality" he specified that he will support Elena Lasconi in the second round of the presidential elections, informs Agerpres.

"I took note of the declassification of the CSAT documents that show that in the electoral campaign of Mr. Calin Georgescu, undeclared external financing was used by him and that there are work patterns that show the involvement of some state actors! I could not speak publicly about these documents because that I respected the law, but one fact is certain: in the electoral competition, I was most affected by the way Mr. Calin Georgescu artificially increased his exposure, evading the legal framework. I hope that, based on the evidence published today, the state authorities will do their job, and all the guilty will pay! In the face of this reality, I will support Mrs. Elena Lasconi in the - the second round of the presidential elections," Ciolacu wrote on Facebook.

He added that the construction of a pro-European parliamentary and governmental majority has already been started, which will support Elena Lasconi in the vote on December 8.

"We must overcome the wave of hatred that has been grinding us for 20 years and focus, together, on a great national objective - the continuation of Romania's European development path! This is what both the Romanians living in the country and those who live in the West and who conveyed to us, through their recent vote, that we must continue to build a strong state and worthy, able to fight for the rights of Romanians, wherever they live in the world," he mentioned.
