The Ministry of Justice does not transmit the draft laws directly to the Parliament, minister Tudorel Toader said on Thursday, who came with a series of clarifications "for those who are keen on the truth", stating that "necessary distinctions" should be made between the draft laws worded by the Ministry of Justice and the views, opinions or proposals submitted directly to the parliamentary committees.
According to him, during the year 2017, the Ministry of Justice drew up two draft laws: the amendment to the Criminal Code in the sense of agreeing with the decisions of the Constitutional Court, as well as the transposition of the extended confiscation Directive and the draft law amending the Criminal Procedure Code, in the sense of agreeing with the decisions of the Constitutional Court, as well as the transposition of the Directive on strengthening the presumption of innocence.
''The two draft laws were adopted by the Government and transmitted to Parliament. Subsequently, none of the solutions proposed by the two bills was declared unconstitutional. We should make the necessary distinctions between the draft laws worded by the Ministry of Justice and the views / opinions / proposals submitted directly to the parliamentary committees," Tudorel Toader wrote on Facebook.
