The training ship "Mircea" will leave, on Wednesday, on a new international training march on the Mediterranean Sea, with students of the Naval Academy, for a period of 40 days, informs the General Staff of the Naval Forces.
86 students from the second year of the "Mircea cel Batran" Naval Academy from Constanta and eight foreign students from partner academies from five states will board the school ship.
According to the quoted source, the training ship "Mircea" will depart from the Constanta military port, in this year's international training march of the students of the "Mircea cel Batran" Naval Academy. During the more than 40 days at sea, the sailing ship will cover approximately 3,400 nautical miles and will dock in the ports of Piraeus (Greece), Livorno (Italy), Toulon (France), Palermo (Italy) and Bodrum (Turkey).
86 second-year students from the Naval Academy, as well as eight foreign students from partner academies from Bulgaria, Latvia, Poland, Spain and Turkey, will train on board the ship, the symbol of the Romanian Naval Forces.
"The young cadets will train under the supervision of the teaching staff from the Naval Academy 'Mircea cel Batran' and the instructors on board the ship. In addition to the mission of preparing the future Navy officers and inspectors from the structures of the Border Police, the school ship "Mircea " also has an important role of representation, the sailing ship being the Honorary Ambassador of Romania on the seas and oceans of the world, as well as the Ambassador of sustainable Romania," it is stated in a press release sent by the Romanian Naval Forces.
The ship's departure ceremony will take place on June 26, starting at 10:00 hrs
The sailboat will return to the Constanta military port at the beginning of August.
