New vehicle registrations increased in Romania by 65.32 percent in January 2018 to 15,762 units, compared with the same month of the previous year, when 11,744 cars were registered, show data with the Driving Licenses and Vehicle Registration Directorate (DRPCIV), consulted by AGERPRES.
According to official statistics, the highest January 2018 increase by type of vehicles was recorded in the tractor category, namely 180 percent (28 units), followed by buses and minibuses (92 units, + 130 percent), commercial vehicles (2,375 units, + 76.06 percent), passenger cars (11,744 units, + 66.37 percent), trailers (934 units, + 56,45 percent), utility vehicles (63 units, + 34.04 percent ), mopeds and motorcycles (107 units, + 21.59 percent) and semi-trailers (329 units, + 13.45 percent).
By the number of units registered, most of the registration requests were for Dacia - 3,613 units, up 67.35 percent from January 2017; Volkswagen (1,080 units, + 31.07 percent), Skoda (905 units, + 31.07 percent), Ford (837 units, + 40.31 percent) and Renault (724 units + 15.65 percent).
On the other hand, the smallest number of DRPCIV registrations was for Jaguar, eight units; Alfa Romeo (5), Bentley, Maserati and SsangYong (three units each); Ferrari, Mercedes-AMG, Subaru and Tesla (two units each); Aro, Ford-CNG-Technik, Lada and Lamborghini (one unit each).
