The occupancy rate at several hotels in the Prahova Valley, in Poiana Brasov, in other mountain resorts, spas or in rural tourism was 90 - 100% last weekend, the representatives of the National Travel Agencies Association (ANAT) inform in a release sent on Tuesday to AGERPRES.
"As a result of the relaxations and the elimination of all restrictions, the bookings for Romania have registered an increasing trend. Also, as to the foreign destinations, for the Romanian tourists returning from abroad there is no need for any certificate or and the PLF form, and there is no quarantine when one returns to the country. In the last weekend, the occupancy rate was 90-100% at several hotels in Prahova Valley, in Poiana Brasov, in other mountain, spa resorts and in rural tourism. Romanians usually book tourist packages for summer destinations, taking advantage of early booking offers, which still promote discounts of 15-35% until March 31, this being the last month with discounts," the release informs.
At the same time, ANAT states that planes operate normally from all airports in Romania, and countries are beginning to waive restrictions, totally or in part, an example being France, which lifted all restrictions, such as requesting a PLF form, presenting tests and the green certificate.
"Romanians have long discovered the pleasure and benefits of traveling. I have noticed that tourists think a lot about the present. Romanians are empathetic, have supported and continue to support Ukrainian refugees, as ANAT has done, with effort and dedication, they enjoy life and hope for peace. But the conclusion is that life is worth living, so many Romanians are already making short and medium term travel plans. I can say that the booking situation is clearly better than in the same period of the previous year," said Dumitru Luca, the president of ANAT.
The data of tourism employers show that, at present, Romanian tourists book short stays and exotic destinations (Egypt, United Arab Emirates - Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaima, Zanzibar, Maldives, Dominican Republic) or holidays breaks in Europe.
Early booking offers are sought, as usual, for Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Spain, Portugal, Cyprus, Malta or Italy, but also for the Romanian coast, notes ANAT.
