The turnover of trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles in January 2017 was 8.9 percent higher YoY, shows data of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) released on Tuesday.
The turnover for wholesale and retail trade, repair and maintenance of motor vehicles and motorcycles - expressed as raw series - increased as a result of growth in trade in motorcycles, parts and accessories - motorcycles maintenance and repair (+35.5 percent from January 2016), maintenance and repair of motor vehicles (+19.7 percent), trade in motor vehicles (+9.8 pct), and trade in motor vehicle parts and accessories (+3.3 percent).
The turnover for wholesale and retail trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles, maintenance and repair thereof expressed as workday and seasonally adjusted series increased 11.2 pct between January 2016 - January 2017.
The turnover for wholesale and retail trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles, maintenance and repair thereof expressed as raw series was down by 26.4 pct in January 2017 from December 2016.
A downward trend from the previous month was registered by trade in motor vehicles (-34.9 pct), the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles (-15.6 pct), and trade in motor vehicle parts and accessories (-14.5 pct). Conversely, trade in motorcycles and parts, the maintenance and repair thereof advanced 26.9 pct.
Expressed as workday and seasonally adjusted series, the turnover for wholesale and retail trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles, maintenance and repair thereof was 3.3 pct down in January 2017 from December 2016, INS informed.
