Other 115 Romanian citizens returned to Romania from Israel on Monday, on a flight operated by a private airline, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) informs.

"Further to the information provided in the context of the deteriorating security situation in the State of Israel and the Gaza Strip, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that, following the constant efforts of the MAE task force, on October 9, 2023, other 115 Romanian citizens returned to Romania on a flight operated by a private airline," the MAE announced in a press release.

MAE points out that the mobile consular team of the Romanian Embassy in Tel Aviv and the Romanian Representative Office in Ramallah and the team of the Rapid Reaction Unit of the MAE task force will remain at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv to provide consular assistance to Romanian citizens at the airport.

Romanian citizens who are on the territory of this state can contact the Romanian Embassy in Tel Aviv and announce their presence in the region, communicating their identification data and contact details to the e-mail address telaviv@mae.ro and to the permanent telephone number of the Romanian Embassy in Tel Aviv: +972 54 5643279, as well as that of the Consulate General in Haifa: +972 543 998 038, in order to be contacted. MAE underlines the importance of using these channels by Romanian citizens for the correct centralisation of information and the streamlining of dialogue in order to provide consular assistance.

At the same time, the MAE reiterates its recommendation to Romanian citizens who intend to travel to Israel to reschedule their trip and to follow the "Travel Alerts" section on the Ministry's website (https://www.mae.ro/travel-alerts/2938).

MAE also recommends consulting the websites http://telaviv.mae.ro, https://consular-protection.ec.europa.eu/travel-advice_en and www.mae.ro - "Sfaturi de calatorie" and reminds that Romanian citizens travelling abroad can use the SMS alert service, related to the information campaign "An SMS can save your life!."
