Over 100 searches to combat organized crime in last two weeks

More than 100 searches took place between October 18 and 31 for the destruction of criminal groups specialized in drug trafficking, human trafficking, computer crime and money laundering, the Romanian Police informs on Saturday.

"Between October 18 and 31, the police officers of the organized crime fighting structures, together with the DIICOT prosecutors, carried out 45 operative actions (of which 13 were large-scale actions), for the destruction of criminal groups specialized in drug trafficking, human trafficking , computer crime and money laundering," according to a press release sent to AGERPRES.

According to the IGPR, 106 home searches and 5 red-handed arrests were carried out, and 63 arrest warrants were executed.

Investigative activities were carried out to prove the criminal activity of 88 people.

Within the instrumented criminal files, 45 detention orders and 34 preventive arrest warrants were issued. Also, the measure of judicial control was taken against 9 people.

As a result of the activities, approximately 2,930 grams and 121 doses of cannabis, 3 crops with 138 cannabis plants, 21,500 grams of cannabis plant mass, 1,030 grams of cocaine, were confiscated or security measures were instituted. 3,362 grams of other drugs and 90 various tablets.

Also, 18 grinders, 20 scales, 107 mobile phones, 18 computer systems, 86 storage media, 2 non-lethal weapons, 107,785 RON, 12,455 euros and 1,180 pounds were confiscated.

During the actions, together with the policemen from the structures to fight organized crime, the fighters of the Special Interventions and Actions Service, policemen from the county police inspectorates, as well as gendarmes participated.
