Over 100k persons enter Romania on Thursday, including approximately 12k Ukrainians
The General Inspectorate of the Border Police (IGPF) informs that on Thursday 105,080 persons entered Romania through the border crossing points, including 12,247 Ukrainian citizens, told Agerpres.
According to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Friday, about 237,700 people, Romanian and foreign citizens, and over 59,200 means of transport were checked at the border crossing points throughout the country (both on the entry and exit ways).
As of February 10, 2022 (pre-conflict period), 6,043,941 Ukrainian citizens have entered Romania.
In the areas of competence - crossing points and "green border" - the border police detected 73 illegal acts (44 offences and 29 contraventions) committed by both Romanian and foreign citizens, and the value of the fines imposed amounts to approximately 102,300 lei.
Goods worth approximately 182,000 lei were seized for confiscation.
Also on Thursday, 15 foreign citizens were not allowed to enter the country because they did not meet the conditions provided by law and 16 Romanian citizens were not allowed to leave the country for various legal reasons.
