More than 30,000 polluting cars will be removed from circulation through the car scrappage scheme "Rabla Local", run by the Environmental Fund Administration (AFM)), shows a press release of the institution sent on Tuesday to AGERPRES.
In this sense, the AFM sent to the municipalities the list of natural persons registered in the scheme on the scrapping of used vehicles (Rabla Local) and starting from October 3, 2023, the natural persons found in that document will take note and implement the internal procedure of the municipality of residence, posted on its Internet page.
"Through the scheme for the scrapping of used vehicles (Rabla Local) we will remove from circulation more than 30,000 polluting cars and at the same time, citizens will benefit from 3,000 RON offered in exchange for giving up these vehicles older than 15 years with a Euro 3 pollution standard and/or lower", the president of AFM, Laurentiu-Adrian Neculaescu said.
According to the quoted source, after signing the financing contract with the municipality, the natural person will scrap and deregister the used vehicle from circulation and from the tax records, in order to benefit from the incentive for scrapping in the amount of 3,000 RON.
The beneficiary of the scrapping incentive commits, according to the Financing Guide, that they will not purchase a car with a Euro 5 and/or lower pollution standard within three years of receiving the amount from the scrapping.
