Over 66,000 people enter Romania on Wednesday, including almost 8,000 Ukrainians

The General Inspectorate of the Border Police informs that on Wednesday, 66,246 people entered Romania through border points throughout the country, including 7,976 Ukrainian citizens, an increase of about 5% compared to the previous day, told Agerpres.

According to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Thursday, approximately 135,000 people, Romanian and foreign citizens, with almost 44,000 means of transport, carried out the control formalities through the border points throughout the country, both both on the way in and on the way out.

Starting with February 10, 2022 (pre-conflict period), 2,847,088 Ukrainian citizens entered our country.

In the areas of competence - the crossing points and the "green border" - the border police detected 51 illegal acts (24 crimes and 27 misdemeanors) committed by both Romanian and foreign citizens, and the value of the contravention fines applied amounts to over 13,400 RON.

Assets with an estimated value of approximately 452,000 RON were confiscated.

On Wednesday, 19 foreign citizens who did not meet the conditions stipulated by the law were not allowed to enter the country and 15 Romanian citizens were not allowed to leave for various legal reasons.
