Romanian wrestler Andreea Beatrice Ana qualified on Wednesday for the women's 53 kg quarterfinals of the Paris Olympic Games, after a solid 5-0 win over Mariana Dragutan (Republic of Moldova).
The 23-year-old Romanian athlete, who finished 16th at the Tokyo Olympics, will face Lucia Yamileth Yepez Guzman of Ecuador in the quarterfinals that are scheduled later in the day; the Ecuadorian ranked 8th at the Tokyo Olympics in the 50 kg class.
Andreea Beatrice Ana is a three-time European champion in the 55 kg class.
Another two Romanian wrestlers will take on the mat in Paris - Kriszta Tunde Incze (62 kg), and Catalina Axente (76 kg).
Romania's last Olympic medal in wrestling dates back to 2016, when Russian-born Albert Saritov took the bronze in the men's 97-kg freestyle.
