Parliament: Viorel Salan, new chair of SIPA Committee; Serban Nicolae: Released from office on demand

Parliament's joint plenary approved on Wednesday upon the proposal of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) groups in the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies to replace Serban Nicolae from the Inquiry Parliamentary Committee regarding the Internal Anti-Corruption Protection Service (SIPA) archive with PSD senator Viorel Salan, due also to take over from his colleague the presidency of the Committee.

The draft bill regarding the change of the SIPA Committee membership was adopted with 212 votes "in favour", 43 "against" and 4 abstentions. Serban Nicolae specified for Agerpres that he was released from the SIPA Committee on demand.
