Representatives from over 20 countries will take part in the Kurultai International Intercultural Festival, which will be held in Techirghiol under the patronage of UNESCO at the end of this week.

The Democratic Tatar Union (UDT) announced Tuesday that the festival, now in its 10th edition, will feature 250 athletes and 150 artists. The activities will be interactive and include traditional games and sports listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, nomadic horse shows, creative and handicraft workshops, and more.

"The festival celebrates the tenth anniversary of a vision and commitment that, through celebration, brings together men and women from around the world, with over 20 participating countries, local communities, 250 international athletes, and 150 artists performing. Activities are interactive, with days dedicated to traditional games and sports recognized by UNESCO, nomadic horse shows, creative and craft workshops, and traditional gastronomy. (...) The Legendary Concert featuring Arslanbek Sultanbekov will take place Friday, September 5, as a prelude to the highly acclaimed film Simarik, premiering in Romania. The Exceptional Concert of the Turkic World will be held Saturday, September 6, at the Jean Constantin Summer Theatre in Techirghiol, starting at 3:00 PM, gathering outstanding artists and ensembles from the Turkic world," reads the press release sent by UDT.

The Kurultai International Intercultural Festival, which promotes encounters between peoples and cultures, will run from September 5-7 in the Central Square and the Jean Constantin Summer Theatre in Techirghiol, under the patronage of the Romanian National Commission for UNESCO and with funding from the Ministry of Culture.
