Romania's Minister for European Funds Rovana Plumb on Friday met Prince Charles at Vizuresti, Dambovita County, as part of the royal's three-day official visit to Romania, saying that what the prince does for Romania is a wonderful lesson in treasuring and conserving cultural and traditional values.
"I am hugely glad that His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales has come to visit our county. What he does for Romania is a wonderful lesson in how to treasure more our cultural and traditional values and how to conserve the countryside and its beauty, which, as His Highness will say, has to be preserved forever genuine because what we have cannot be found elsewhere in the world," Plumb is quoted as saying in a press statement released on Friday.
She added that in line with capitalising on and advancing the Romanian cultural heritage, an E-culture programme was launched this week worth 10 million euros under which projects are continually received until 2020. Plumb urged the cultural organisations of Dambovita County to submit projects for the advancement of its local cultural heritage. The objective of this action is to include in the European digital library all the values that define the Romanian cultural heritage. E-culture is also a good engine to promote Romanian tourism. "I was excited to remember today the honour His Highness made me in 2013, when he invited me to his Clarence House residence. I was also very glad to see again His Excellence, the UK ambassador in Bucharest, Mr Paul Brummell," Plumb said at the end of the meeting.
Prince Charles on Friday concluded a three-day official visit to Romania.
