Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca said on Tuesday that the National Liberal Party (PNL) and the Social Democratic Party (PSD) leaders assured him in Monday's coalition meeting that no evaluation of the Cabinet members had been done and the reshuffle of ministers was a prime minister prerogative.

"I have seen all statements and aspects regarding yesterday's activity. I want to mention I participated, according to schedule, in each activity I was invited. (...) Yesterday I discussed with party leaders and they confirmed there was no evaluation, for which reason I decided to carry on my activity at the Government on current issues, which are not simple at all, and this way do our best to support the ongoing activity, to manage the refugee crisis and also deal with the economy matters," Ciuca said before the PNL Executive Bureau meeting.

About the ministers' evaluation being done inside the party and not by him, as prime minister, Ciuca replied: "Yesterday I talked with Chairman Citu and he said there wasn't any kind of evaluation," adding that evaluation and reshuffle, in accordance to law, are the prime minister's prerogative.

He also stressed that ministers' reshuffle was a strict decision of the prime minister, based on dialogue with those involved.

"I am a premier on behalf of PNL. We are part of a solid coalition, which was formed in times of crisis, which has to manage a crisis situation. We need to be responsible and this is what we are doing," Ciuca showed, Agerpres informs.
