The holiday of Pesach, one of the most important holidays in the Jewish calendar, emphasizes one of the values that stands at the basis of democratic societies today - freedom and the right of every man to choose the path they desire, said, on Friday, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca.
"The holiday of Pesach, one of the most important holidays of the Jewish Calendar, also called the Celebration of Freedom, marks the liberation of the people of Israel and the end of the slavery of Jews in Egypt over 3,000 years ago. Beyond the historical and religious significance of this holiday, its symbolistic emphasizes one of the values that stands at the basis of democratic societies today and that nobody, for any reason, should place in danger: freedom and the right of every man to choose the path they desire," said Nicolae Ciuca.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister wished the Jewish community in Romania and Jews around the world to enjoy health, peace and welfare, Agerpres.ro informs.
"On the occasion of the holiday of Pesach, I wish Jewish communities in Romania, the leadership of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Romania and Jews around the world to enjoy health, peace and welfare. May the joy of Pesach accompany all throughout the year! Chag Pesach Sameah!" said the head of the Executive.
