Premier Viorica Dancila conveyed on Wednesday to Albania's visiting Defense Minister Olta Xhacka her appreciation for the good cooperation of the two countries as part of NATO and EU missions, the government said in a release.
The meeting was a good opportunity to reaffirm Romania's openness to deepening bilateral relations overall, as a continuation of the talks Premier Dancila and her Albanian counterpart Edi Rama had in Sofia on July 6.
PM Dancila also expressed her satisfaction at bilateral sectoral meetings picking up pace, as well as at the organization in Tirana, November 8 - 9, of the next meeting of the Romanian-Albanian joint intergovernmental committee on economic, scientific and technical cooperation.
"The Romanian Prime Minister expressed her appreciation for the good cooperation as part of the NATO and EU missions. The meeting was an occasion to review defense cooperation, based on the legal framework developed so far, which allows the deepening and strengthening of the relevant cooperation," the release states.
Dancila reaffirmed Romania's support for the European track of the Republic of Albania and encouraged Albanian authorities to continue the reform process in order to achieve concrete results during the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the release concludes.
