The president of the opposition's People's Movement Party (PMP) Eugen Tomac says that Liviu Dragnea and Florin Iordache are officially revoked from the head of the Chamber of Deputies, and that the transcript of the 5 December's sitting is proof to it.
He added that the deputies must elect in the new session a new chairmanship that "will bring back democracy in the Parliament".
In the 5 December's reunion of the Chamber of Deputies the Opposition demanded the introduction on the plenum's agenda of two decisions that provided for the cancellation from their positions of Speaker Liviu Dragnea and of Deputy Speaker Florin Iordache. The latter who was running the reunion refused this request because, said he, it is against the regulation, whilst the National Liberal Party (PNL, opposition)'s deputy Marilen Pirtea, a Deputy Speaker, took over the reunion's leading and required for the vote of several proposals from the Chamber of Deputies' rostrum.
After a 20-minute pause of consultations, the deputies resumed the plenary reunion and the first orator who took the floor was liberal Marilen Pirtea. According to him, the revoking of the two was voted by the plenum. Yet, Iordache drew attention that he, Pirtea, was not running the reunion and invited the liberal to take a seat in the hall.
After several debates and pauses of consultations, the reunion was canceled by Iordache.
