Prime Minister Viorica Dancila, who is paying a visit to Brussels, met on Tuesday with head of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats of the European Parliament Udo Bullmann. The PM presented him "the real situation of Romania," while reconfirming the Gov't's commitment regarding "the European principles and values."
According to a release of the Gov't sent to AGERPRES, the meeting featured on the agenda of meetings which the head of the Romanian Executive carries out these days in Brussels with leaders of the political groups of the European Parliament according to Agerpres.
"The talks, carried out in a cordial ambiance, reached a wide range of topics on Romania's domestic agenda, as well as on the European agenda. Thus, there have been tackled topics of interest in view of the debate regarding Romania, which will take place in the European Parliament, in the beginning of October," reads the release.
According to the Government, PM Dancila presented the real situation of Romania, reconfirming the Gov't's commitment regarding the European principles and values.
Moreover, also presented were the reforms initiated by Romania's Government in priority areas for our country, showing that "these are the results of a transparent interinstitutional cooperation and in their drawing up European partners have also been consulted," the release mentions.
In respect to the European agenda, the discussions focused on the preparation of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU. In this context, PM Dancila reconfirmed Romania's interest in ensuring a mandate that contributes to the cohesion of the European project, while bringing the Union closer to the citizens," the release mentions.
According to the Executive release, alongside PM Dancila, the meeting was also attended by MEP Dan Nica.
