The National Coordination Council of the National Liberal Party (PNL) will be organized next Saturday to validate the decision regarding the sole chairmanship of the party under Alina Gorghiu, and the authorisation of Daniel Buda as signatory of the party ticket for the parliamentary elections, according to liberal sources.
Former co-chair Vasile Blaga announced in a press conference the results of today's meetings. "There were two meetings. The first was that of the chairmen of the former PD-L [Democrat Liberal Party]. Then there was the meeting of the National Liberal Party Standing Bureau. In the first meeting, with one vote against and four abstentions, we decided to renounce co-chairmanship of the party because we are a single party and to propose a sole chairman in the person of Ms. Gorghiu," said Blaga.
Vasile Blaga also mentioned his support for Alina Gorghiu.
"I am convinced that I have chosen the best solution. I support Ms. Gorghiu and I believe it's the best way," Blaga emphasized.
Also decided in the Saturday session was that Gheorghe Falca, chairman of the Arad County branch of the party, be coordinator of the party's campaign for the parliamentary elections.
Vasile Blaga has resigned on Wednesday as co-chair of the National Liberal Party and coordinator of its electoral campaign for the parliamentary elections, following accusations from the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) of influence peddling and receiving 700,000 euro in undue gains.
