President Klaus Iohannis signed on Friday a decree appointing Nicolae Hurduc as minister of research and innovation, according to the Presidential Administration.
Prime Minister Viorica Dancila announced on Thursday that Professor Nicolae Hurduc was proposed as the minister of research.
"I presented to the National Permanent Bureau the proposal for the minister of research, Mr Nicolae Hurduc, a professor at the "Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Protection," Dancila said.
Former Minister of Research and Innovation Nicolae Burnete announced his resignation on August 31. Deputy Prime Minister Viorel Stefan became the acting minister.
