The Congress of the "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy, now in its 11th edition, confirms the recognition of the importance of the event in promoting scientific research, education and innovation in the medical area, presidential advisor Diana Paun said on Thursday.
"The Congress is not only a continuation of the rich tradition of this elite university, of which I am honored to be a part, but it underlines its adaptation to the ever-changing context. In today's fast-paced environment, medical research and innovation play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of the population. The University of Medicine and Pharmacy is an essential pillar in this direction, contributing significantly to the development and application of medical knowledge," Diana Paun said on Thursday at the opening of the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy Congress.
She stressed the importance of international partnerships and exchange of best practices to ensure the transfer of the latest knowledge and techniques into medical practice.
"Medical diplomacy has become increasingly important, representing Romania's strong commitment to solving global issues. It is essential to recognise the importance of efforts to create European and international medical cooperation networks and to realise the benefits that can result from close collaboration with renowned physicians abroad. I recently paid a visit to Japan and South Korea, which have deeply impressed me with the progress, experience and expertise of their health systems, and I was particularly pleased with the openness of academics and researchers to collaborate and share their vast experience. We must seize these opportunities for academic and medical scientific cooperation. I hope that this congress will inspire you to continue to find ways to improve the health of the population, because this event grows with each edition," added Păun.
