As many as 17,688 voters showed up to the polling stations or voted by mail by 3.00 pm, on Friday, in the diaspora, in the first round of the presidential, according to data provided in real time by the Permanent Electoral Authority, announce agerpres.ro.

According to the AEP, from the opening of the polling stations until 3.00 pm, 13,461 Romanian citizens living abroad went to the polling stations, and 4,227 voted by mail.

The most Romanian voters showed up in the Republic of Moldova - 2,781, Italy - 1,873, Spain - 1,792, Germany - 1,529, Great Britain - 1,511, France - 680, Belgium - 546, the Netherlands - 443, Austria - 417 and Denmark - 216.

Friday is the first day of the presidential election in the diaspora.
