As of 17:00hrs EEST on Sunday, 7,118,882 voters voted in the first round of the presidential election rerun, making up 39.58% of the number of the voters on the electoral rolls, according to data provided in real time by the Standing Electoral Authority (AEP), informs Agerpres.
In urban areas, 4,345,575 voters voted, and in rural areas, 2,773,307 voters.
As many as 79,083 voters used the mobile ballot box.
Of the 7,118,882 voters who voted as of 17:00hrs, 6,320,695 voted in the country, namely35.14%, and 798,187 voted abroad.
Voting abroad started on Friday at 07:00hrs, local, and will end on Sunday at 21:00hrs, EEST.
High voter turnouts were recorded in the counties:
* Ilfov - 48.25% of the total voters on rolls;
* Arges - 41.38%;
* Giurgiu - 40.75%;
* Cluj - 39.87%;
* Constanta - 39.45%.
Low voter turnouts were recorded in the following counties:
* Vaslui - 24.70% of the total voters on rolls;
* Satu Mare - 26.56%;
* Covasna - 28.17%;
* Botosani - 29.89%;
* Harghita - 30.05%.
In Bucharest, the voter turnout was 37.13% as follows:
* Sector 1 - 42.32%;
* Sector 2 - 38.33%;
* Sector 3 - 31.06%;
* Sector 4 - 38.63%;
* Sector 5 - 34.64%;
* Sector 6 - 41.56%.

In 2024, in the first round of the presidential election, which was later cancelled, the turnout was 41.48% on Sunday at 17:00hrs.
