As of 19:00hrs EEST on Sunday, 8,492,879 voters voted in the first round of the presidential election rerun, making up 47.21% of the number of the voters on the electoral rolls, according to data provided in real time by the Standing Electoral Authority (AEP), informs Agerpres.
In urban areas, 5,132,675 voters voted, and in rural areas, 3,360,204 voters.
As many as 84,550 voters used the mobile ballot box.
Of the 8,492,87 voters who voted as of 19:00hrs, 7,596,649 voted in the country, namely 42.23%, and 896,230 voted abroad.
Voting abroad started on Friday at 07:00hrs, local, and will end on Sunday at 21:00hrs, EEST.
High voter turnouts were recorded in the counties:
* Ilfov - 58.40 of the total voters on rolls;
* Giurgiu - 50.28%;
* Arges - 49.18%;
* Cluj - 48.53%;
* Olt - 47.25%.
Low voter turnouts were recorded in the following counties:
* Vaslui - 29.69% of the total voters on rolls;
* Satu Mare - 32.45%;
* Covasna - 33.78%;
* Botosani - 34.61%;
* Maramures - 36.29%.
In Bucharest, the voter turnout was 44.27% as follows:
* Sector 1 - 50.48%;
* Sector 2 - 45.59%;
* Sector 3 - 37.09%;
* Sector 4 - 46.14%;
* Sector 5 - 41.34%;
* Sector 6 - 49.45%.

In 2024, in the first round of the presidential election, which was later cancelled, the turnout was 49.01% on Sunday at 19:00hrs.
