The Romanian President Klaus Iohannis and the President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu laid flowers at the bust of poet Mihai Eminescu in the Stefan cel Mare Public Garden in Chisinau on Saturday.
The flower-laying ceremony took place at the end of the official visit of the Romanian head of state to the capital of the Republic of Moldova.
The event was attended by hundreds of Moldovan citizens who applauded the two heads of state, according to agerpres.ro.
After laying flowers, Klaus Iohannis and Maia Sandu stopped in the middle of the crowd, where a little girl recited a poem about the Romanian language, given that Romanian Language Day is celebrated on Saturday, August 31.
