US artist Sharrie Williams, known as "the princess of rockin' gospel blues" returns this weekend to Romania in order to perform three concerts within the 13 edition of the Brasov Jazz&Blues Festival, which takes place from Thursday to Sunday.
She will perform two concerts in Brasov - the first at Juno Wine Garden, on Friday, at 8:00 PM and the second in Sfantul Ioan Square, on Saturday, at 6:30 PM - as well as a performance at the Fortified Church in Bod, on Sunday, at 2:30 PM.
The US artist, who is a "permanent guest of the festival" according to the organizers, will perform alongside Germany's Lars Kutschke Band, who will host jam sessions on three of the four evenings of the event at O'Peter's Irish Pub.
The festival also includes performances by Platonic Band & Friends (Romania), Curtis Salgado (US), Francesca Tandoi (Italy), Magda MAGIC Piskorczyk (Poland), Rain Sultanov & Hikmat Baba-zada Duo (Azerbaijan), Philip Lassiter (US), and Berti Barbera & Mariano Castro (Romania) on the main stage in Sfantul Ioan Square (with paid entry), the Brassai Square stage (free access) and at Juno Wine Garden (also paid entry).
Furthermore, the event will feature children's workshops and dance demonstrations (at Coresi Shopping Center), as well as a film screening about the life of artist David Bowie (at Aftar Garden), with free access at both locations.
The Brasov Jazz & Blues Festival is considered one of the largest cultural events in the county, with a budget of 750,000 lei this year and is co-financed by the County Council and partnered with the Brasov City Hall.
The Festival was named the best cultural event of the year in Brasov in 2022.
