Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) Liviu Dragnea stated on Wednesday that there have never been any talks in the party or in the governing coalition about the merger of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) with the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT).
"I don't understand why this silly topic is brought back - the merger of the DNA with the DIICOT. We have never talked about it in the party or in the coalition and we don't intend to talk about it. Why should they merge? There's nothing of the sort," Dragnea stated before the meeting of the PSD's National Executive Committee (CExN). The meeting agenda of the PSD's CExN mainly features the assessment of state secretaries.
