Romania and Palau agreed to establish diplomatic relations

Romania's and Palau's representatives at the UN, Ion Jinga and Ngedikes Olai Uludong, respectively, signed in New York a joint document regarding the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) informed on Saturday.

According to a press release sent to AGERPRES, the signing ceremony took place on 16 February, the demarche being complementary to the actions of the Romanian diplomacy aimed at strengthening the bilateral political relations with the Caribbean and Oceania states.

The number of states which Romania maintains diplomatic relationships with has, thus, reached 189, out of which 186 UN member states, the quoted source mentions.
