Romania's Irina Begu and Monica Niculescu, 2nd seed, qualified for the quarterfinals of the women's doubles of the WTA tennis tournament in Hua Hin, Thailand (Toyota Thailand Open) with prizes worth 250,000 US dollars, after defeating the pair made up of Chinese Xinyu Jiang/Qianhui Tang, with a score of 7-5, 6-3, in just one hour and 25 minutes.
For qualifying in the quarterfinals, Begu and Niculescu secured a cheque worth 1,920 US dollars and 60 WTA points.
In the quarterfinals, the Romanian nationals will face off the winners of the event between Japanese Kurumi Nara/ Chinese Saisai Zheng and Thaliland's Nudnida Luangnam/Peangtarn Plipuech.
