Tennis player Ana Bogdan, world number 108, on Tuesday defeated her fellow Romanian, Sorana Cirstea, world number 53, 6-4 6-2 in the women's singles round of 32 of the 226,750-USD BRD Bucharest Open tournament.
The only met once previously, in the 2016 US Open first round, with Bogdan prevailing 0-6 7-5 6-2.
For her Monday's victory, Bogdan won 3,310 US dollars and 30 WTA singles points. In the round of 16, Bogdan plays Turkey's Cagla Buyukakcay, world number 165.
