Romanian and Moldovan foreign ministers lay wreaths at Eminescu statue in Chernivtsi

Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister Oana Toiu and her counterpart from the Republic of Moldova Mihai Popsoi laid flowers on Friday afternoon at the statue of poet Mihai Eminescu, located in the central area of Chernivtsi, Ukraine.

The flower-laying ceremony took place after the trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Romania, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova.

Flowers were also laid by Romania's Ambassador to Kyiv Victor Micula, Moldovan Ambassador to Ukraine Valeriu Chiveri, as well as by Romanian Consul General in Chernivtsi, Irina Stanculescu and Ana Cristina Tinca, the State Secretary with the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE).

The event was also attended by numerous leaders of the Romanian community in the Chernivtsi region, including mayors, teaching staff and cultural figures.

Later, the head of the Romanian diplomacy met at the National Palace in Chernivtsi with representatives of the Romanian community.
