Romanian car market down by 29.6% in first 4 months of the year

The Romanian car market decreased by almost 30% in the first four months of this year, compared to the same period in 2019, according to the Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association (APIA), published on Friday.

By brands (passenger cars + commercial vehicles) Dacia continues to lead after the first 4 months of the year, with 9,551 units, followed by Volkswagen, with 3,436 units, Renault 2,961 units, Skoda, 2,779, Ford 2,564 units and Hyundai 2,239 units.

At the end of the first four months of 2020, Top 10 is driven by Dacia, with 8,834 units (27.7% market share), followed by Volkswagen with 2,870 units (9% market share), Skoda with 2,779 units (8.7 % of the total market), Renault with 2,411 units (7.6% market share), Hyundai with 2,239 units (7% market share).

By model, with the 3,651 units sold, Dacia Logan is the best-selling model, in January-April, followed by Dacia Duster with 2,493 units, Dacia Sandero - with 1,867 units, Skoda Octavia (1,293) and Renault Clio (996 ).
