Romanian tennis player Gabriela Ruse on Wednesday advanced to the women's singles second round at the Kyotec Open W75 Petange ITF tournament (W75) in Petange, Luxembourg, prize money USD 60,000, after beating Kathinka von Deichmann (Liechtenstein), 6-4 6-1.
Second seed Ruse, 28, ranked 99th, prevailed in an hour and 22 minutes.
The Romanian had also defeated von Deichmann, 31, ranked 223rd, in the first round in Maribor, Slovenia, at a similar W75 tournament, 6-3 6-3.
In the second round, Ruse will play qualifier Eva Bennemann of Germany, 18, ranked 568th.
