Secretary of State for Education Kallas Zoltan on Thursday said that if the coronavirus pandemic lasts too long, the children will lose too much by attending online-only courses."

While paying a visit to Botosani, on the occasion of the launch of the national promotion campaign "Vaccination and testing for learning!," that the main problems that students will have as a result of not attending classes with physical attendance at school will have to do with their capacity for socialization, agerpres.ro confirms.

"Nothing can replace the face-to-face meetings and we want this to happen as soon as possible, so that the physical distance that is talked about in the media does not turn into social distance," the Secretary of State said.

He expressed his support for the campaign promoting vaccination, pointing out that returning to school can only take place after the mass immunisation of the population is achieved.

"We all want this online education to end, to be able to return as soon as possible to the classrooms, to face-to-face education. For this we should get that immunisation. We need to get vaccinated as soon as possible and for that we need to get as many vaccines as possible," said Kallos Zoltan.

The Ministry of Education, in partnership with the National Council of Rectors, the National Trade Union Federation Alma Mater, the Federation of Free Trade Unions in Education, the Federation of Education Trade Unions "Spiru Haret," the National Council of Students, the National Alliance of Romanian Organizations, The National Union of Students in Romania, the National Federation of Parents' Associations and the "Save the Children" Organization have launched the National Campaign "Vaccination and Testing for Learning!."

According to officials of the Ministry of Education, the basic principle of this promotion campaign is that education teaches you to protect yourself from unconsolidated opinions, prejudices, false news and manipulation.
