The Senate voted on Monday the composition of the Standing Bureau for the last ordinary session of the 2020 - 2024 legislature.
The members of the Standing Bureau were elected, apart from the President of the Senate (who is elected at the beginning of the legislature or when the parliamentary majority changes), by secret electronic vote.
Senators voted in favour of the composition of the Standing Bureau, announced by the group leaders from the Senate platform, by secret electronic vote, with 105 votes in favour.
The Social Democratic Party (PSD) parliamentary group, with 50 members, has two vice-presidents of the Senate - Robert Cazanciuc and Paul Stanescu, a secretary - Marius Humelnicu, and two quaestors - Marius Dunca and Puiu Ovidiu.
The National Liberal Party (PNL) has 35 senators and is represented in the Standing Bureau by two vice-presidents - Virgil Guran and Sorin Mihai Cimpeanu and a secretary - Roberta Alma Anastase.
The Save Romania Union (USR) group, with 20 members, has one Senate secretary - Sebastian Cernic and one quaestor - Sergiu Vlad.
The Alliance for Romanians' Union (AUR) group, which has 16 senators, is represented in the Standing Bureau by secretary Sorin Lavric.
On behalf of the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR), a group with 9 members, Tanczos Barna occupies one of the four posts of Senate quaestor.
In accordance with the provisions of Article 27 of the Senate's Regulations, the distribution of positions in the Standing Bureau is established at the beginning of each ordinary session, through negotiations between the representatives of the parliamentary groups, respecting the proportion of the number of senators from each group in relation to the total number of senators.
