The Romanian tennis player Simona Halep, world's #1, was defeated 7-6 (2) 3-6 6-4 by the Danish Caroline Wozniacki, world's #2, on Saturday, in Melbourne, in the Australian Open's final.
Halep (26 year-old) missed for the third time a Grand Slam title, after losing other two finals, at Roland Garros, in 2014 and 2017.
Simona Halep will also lose her #1 WTA position, as of Monday being replaced at the WTA's helm by Wozniacki (27 year-old).
Halep was close to make her career's performance, after leading 4-3 in the decisive game, but lost the set, even if she served twice.
