The Bucharest Transport Company's (STB) union will inform the employees about the ruling of the Bucharest Tribunal on the suspension of their strike, and they will decide what to do next, president of the Bucharest Transporters' Union Vasile Petrariu declared for AGERPRES on Thursday.
"We haven't yet received any decision, no communication from the tribunal, we only learned the news from TV. If this is the decision, we will inform the people and they will decide what to do next. We are obliged to inform them and the decision is in their hands because we have nothing to do with this conflict, there was no way for us to call a strike," said Vasile Petrariu.
Earlier in the day, the leader of the STB representative union explained that neither the company's management nor the City Hall have contacted the workers in a bid to defuse the conflict.
"[The tribunal] must notify the decision to us in writing. It's hard to say if we'll be out of the depots tomorrow, I can't say, because the workers are quite incensed, especially as there has been no reaction from the authorities, no bid to defuse the conflict, to find middle ground. Threats only stir up the spirits, incite them even more. The court will decide and we'll see what to do. We have made our case, we have explained what's happening, they came with their lawyers, with speculations, anyway it's clear that the court is the one to decide," Petrariu said.
The Bucharest Tribunal upheld on Thursday STB's request for the suspension of the strike mounted by the trade unionists, ruling that public transport in the capital city should resume immediately.
The decision of the court is binding.
