Thousands of tourists are expected to spend the Easter holidays this weekend at Valea Lotrului and Valea Oltului resorts, with tour operators offering packages that include festive meals with traditional staples, and tourists arriving in the area enjoying the last days of skiing this year at Obarsia Lotrului.
Voineasa resort Mayor Gabriel Nastasescu told AGERPRES on Monday that on the Transalpina slope there is still a lot of snow, so that those who want can ski under excellent conditions even on Easter.
However, for those who want to spend Easter in a traditional way, tour operators from the neighbouring areas have prepared a series of tourist packages, with highest in demand being Malaia, a small town aspiring to become a tourist resort of local interest, where over 800 accommodation places have already been booked.
Hundreds of tourists are expected to spend the Resurrection night traditionally at Brezoi, a small town recently declared a tourist resort of local interest that has become one of the main tourist attractions in Valcea County as a result of summer blues, folk and rock music festivals.
While waiting for the opening of the summer season on May 1, tour operators at the resort of Calimanesti-Caciulata have prepared for those who want to spend Easter at Valea Oltului and to participate in the Resurrection church service in the famous local monasteries of Cozia, Stanisoara, Turnu or Ostrov, packages that do not lack traditional products, and bathing in swimming pools and hot springs.
Tourist packages at Valea Oltului and Valea Lotrului guesthouses and hotels for the Easter holiday are priced between 350 lei / night per person at Malaia and a maximum of 1,445 lei for an full board three-night stay that includes a festive meal at Calimanesti.
