Three-month interbank offered rate further moves upwards to 2.75 pct on Thursday

Romania's three-month interbank offered rate ROBOR, which serves as benchmark for floating-rate loans in lei, climbed on Thursday to 2.75 percent from 2.73 percent the day before, a high since the 2.77 percent registered on October 15, 2014, shows data of the National Bank of Romania (BNR). 

According to central bank data, early this year the three-month ROBOR was 2.05 percent, whereas in the similar period last year it was 0.91 percent. 

The 6-month ROBOR that is used for pricing mortgage loans went up to 2.88 percent, while the nine-month ROBOR - a measure of what banks charge each other for loans - climbed to 2.92 percent from 2.91 percent on Wednesday. The 12-month ROBOR inched up 0.1 percentage points from the day before, to 2.97 percent.
