Romania is ready to sustain the same pace of negotiations during the Presidency of the Council of the EU, the Chairperson of the Committee on European Affairs of the Chamber of Deputies, PSD MP Angel Tilvar said on Monday at the end of the meeting of the chairpersons of The Conference of Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs of Parliaments of the European Union (COSAC), hosted in Bucharest.
"In these six months, Romania will prove to be a well-trained and fair leader for the forthcoming key-debates on the future of Europe. Appreciating the strong points of our predecessors, the Bulgarian and Austrian Presidencies, Romania is ready to sustain the same pace of negotiations, which will lead to consistent progress throughout its mandate and of those who will take over the Presidency, Finland and Croatia. (...) At the same time, I think we will make important steps, no matter how small or large, and dialogue helps our common goal, the convergence, which brings benefits to all of us. Let us continue the constructive discussions in the coming months, in the meetings of other committees within the parliamentary dimension, including the COSAC plenary meeting, which will take place on 23-25 June, 2019, also in Bucharest," Angel Tilvar said.
