Several pieces of material were identified in the area of Nufaru village, the area two kilometers from this town being restricted until the investigation is completed, said on Wednesday Tulcea Garrison commander, Antonel-Marian Vatamanu.

"Searches, checks, investigations are being carried out, according to the specific procedures of the Ministry of National Defense. (...) These pieces are located approximately 2 km south of the village of Nufaru, on a hill. This area is hardly visible from the land area, you can see better from the air. For this reason, they were first seen by the helicopter, after which the ground teams moved to the place where the device hit the ground. (...) There are no restrictions, there are no dangers, there are no threats, the only restriction is the one related to this area, where, until the completion of the investigation and checks, access to the area is absolutely prohibited. (...) Currently, several pieces of materials, composites, metallic materials have been identified. The committee specialized in the identification of these objects is in the process of research and I can't give you any further details yet," commander Antoanel-Marian Vatamanu said, agerpres reports.

According to the commander of the Tulcea Garrison, the searches are carried out by mixed teams, made up of forces from the Ministry of National Defense, the River Flotilla, the 307th Marine Infantry Regiment, the divisions of the River Flotilla, the General Directorate of Defence Intelligence (DGIA), the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI).

The Ministry of Defense announced that the crew of an IAR 330 Puma helicopter of the Romanian Air Force, from the Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base, identified, in the area of the towns of Nufarul and Victoria in Tulcea county, fragments that could have come from a drone, dispersed on a surface several tens of meters.
