Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMF) in Cluj-Napoca is the only higher education institution in medicine and pharmacy in Romania that is included in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022 ranking, Agerpres reports.
"Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca has been named one of the best universities in the world, according to the new edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022. UMF Iuliu Hatieganu ranks 351-400 in Medicine, from the general field of Life Sciences and Medicine, being again this year the only academic institution with a medical profile in Romania included in this ranking," UMF Cluj-Napoca informs on Thursday in a press release.
According to the cited source, QS Quacquarelli Symonds - an international think tank for higher education - published on Wednesday the twelfth edition of QS World University Rankings by Subject, a comparative analysis of the performance of 15,200 individual university programs from 1,543 universities in 88 countries around the world, in 51 academic disciplines. As many as 1,200 universities were evaluated for the drawing up of the ranking for the medicine discipline, and 671 of them were included in the ranking.
UMF Iuliu Hatieganu is the only university in Romania ranked 351-400th, being followed by Babes-Bolyai University, 601-650th. (...) Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy is present in several important international rankings, dedicated to higher education institutions. Due to these results, the University of Cluj ranks 4th in the University Metaranking for 2021, carried out by the Ministry of Education, which classifies the best performing higher education institutions at a scientific level and with international visibility in the global rankings of universities," the release further reads.
