The Bucharest Police recommends drivers to avoid traveling on National Road 1 (DN1) on Friday between 12:00 and 17:00 hrs, in the context of the implementation of a series of measures generated by the visit to Bucharest of the US Vice President, Kamala Harris.
"The authorities involved have in view for the instituted security measures to interfere as little as possible with the population's daily activities. Thus, for participants in traffic there will be measures to improve the flow of traffic and, in this context, the Bucharest Road Police Brigade requests drivers respect the signals and indications of policemen. Drivers are recommended that on Friday, in the interval between 12:00 and 17:00 hrs, they avoid traveling on National Road 1, in order to prevent the formation of traffic jams," mentions the Bucharest City Police General Directorate (DGPMB), in a release sent on Thursday to AGERPRES.
The Bucharest Police made an appeal for support from the population for this event.
The US Vice President is on Thursday in Poland, while on Friday she is to arrive in Bucharest for a scheduled meeting with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace.
