Save Romania Union (USR) Chair Elena Lasconi sends a message on International Roma Day, advocating for education, inclusion, and economic development in disadvantaged communities.

"We can set Romania on the right path, but for that, we need to be united. Ethnicity doesn't matter; we are all equal, we all have a place under the sun, and we have the same rights and duties as citizens. And, most importantly: I am convinced that our love for the country unites us! Today, on International Roma Day, my thoughts go out to the Roma community in our country. It is essential to understand that in order to build a united society, we need to overcome prejudices and support the integration of the Roma in all social and economic aspects," wrote the USR leader on Facebook on Tuesday.

She supports ensuring access to education, healthcare services, jobs and combating discrimination.

Lasconi mentions that, as the mayor of Campulung, she has consolidated and modernised a school in a disadvantaged area of the city using European funds.

She underscores that, as president, she will "fight" for every Romanian, regardless of ethnicity.

"Today, more than ever, it is time to focus on education, inclusion and economic development in disadvantaged communities. We need to approach each other with wisdom and openness, and you will see that there is always a bridge between two worlds and a hand extended when the one next to us needs it," the post also reads.
