Romanian swimmer Daniel Martin won the silver medal in men's 100m backstroke on Monday at the 2018 Youth Olympics Games in Buenos Aires.
Martin was timed for 53 seconds 59/100, after Russian Kliment Kolesnikov, 53 seconds 26/100, while Italian Thomas Ceccon came third, 53 seconds 65/100.
Daniel Martin qualified on Monday also for the men's 100m butterfly, with the 5th time in the semifinals (52 seconds 70/100) on Monday at the final of.
This was the third medal won by the young Romanian athletes in the capital of Argentina, after the gold won by judoka Adrian Sulca (81 kg) and the bronze won by weightlifter Mihaela Valentina Cambei (48 kg), also on Monday.
The Olympic team of Romania consists of 34 athletes, 21 girls and 13 boys, competing in 14 sports.
