The Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR) on Wednesday rejected as inadmissible a request from former Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu of the circumstances of a no-confidence vote that led to his Cabinet being ousted.
On June 29, Grindeanu sent a letter to CCR Chairman Valer Dorneanu asking the court to examine the conditions in which the MPs voted on the censure motion against his Cabinet.
In a joint session of June 21, Parliament debated and voted on a censure motion called "Romania cannot be confiscated! We defend democracy and Romanians' vote!" tabled by the Social Democratic Party (PSD ) and the Alliance of Liberal and Democrats (ALDE). It passed 241 to 10.
