Prime Minister Mihai Tudose stated on Wednesday that the transfer of insurance contributions from employers to employees has not been abandoned but a solution is being sought alongside the unions, so that every one reaches an agreement. "No, Mr Hossu has said it clearly. And I repeat it just as clearly. The decision to discard the transfer hasn't been made. We are looking for a solution to compensate or implement the uniform pay law, if it is possible not to carry through the transfer, to see how we compensate, there is where the solution lies. But starting with Friday, as Mr. Chairman has told you, we have a working group, we have to talk to all trade union federations, so that everybody agrees," Mihai Tudose said in Victoriei Square, at Cartel Alfa leader, Mr. Hossu's side.
He added that the transfer of social taxes to the employee's account is part of a legislative package, together with the uniform pay law and the lowering of the taxation level. "There was a package, the uniform pay law, with this tax transfer, with the lowering of the taxation level, there was a package. A component of this legislative package has basically entered into force now. To the extent that, together with the federations' support, we will find a new solution, we will apply that solution. If we don't find a solution, we will look for a solution so that the ones in the private sector do not suffer, so that their revenues increase as well," Tudose affirmed.
The premier specified that he has also discussed with Mr. Hossu about the benefits granted to budget institutions, and that things have gone wild in that sector. "In this respect too we have had talks with representatives of Cartel Alfa, with Mr. Chairman. And they acknowledged that here things have gone crazy in that domain. There are positions on the payroll which have 10 to 15 benefits pouring in, one after the other, that nobody understands anything any more. Here too, things will need to be regulated or deregulated, where necessary.
