Asked whether he is in favor of a bill that changes the law of public procurement so that the lowest price does not matter but the price-quality ratio, Tariceanu replied: "I think that in recent years a big mistake has been made, in assessing projects exclusively based on price. What was found was that contracts were often signed, service providers could not fit within the price limits, there had been additional acts in which the original price was changed. The formula I think has proved its shortcomings and I think it is time to understand that we are always interested not only in the price but also in the quality of the works. "
The President of the Senate said he was "struck by the poor quality of infrastructure works" over the past ten years.
